A resident of Vadmauli in Kej taluka, the farmer Srikant Vishnu Gadale wrote a letter to the office of Beed collector on Thursday, in which he said he wanted to be the chief minister of the state.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir was officially bifurcated into two union territories at the stroke of midnight on Wednesday. The development comes 86 days after the Parliament abrogated Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370. Going forward, the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be headed by lieutenant governors GC Murmu and RK Mathur, respectively. They will take oath on Thursday.

Soon after she reached the destination, a little street kid came to her asking for food.
