MeToo: MJ Akbar to record his statement against Priya Ramani in Delhi court today

Former Union Minister MJ Akbar is set to appear in New Delhi's Patiala House court to record his statement in connection with a defamation suit filed by him against journalist Priya Ramani who had accused him of sexual harassment. The court will begin pre-summoning evidence in the case today.

Delhi’s air quality turns ‘severe’ for first time in season due to heavy stubble burning in last 24 hours

With stubble burning intensifying in neighbouring states, the air quality in Delhi turned ‘severe’ for the first time this season on Tuesday, authorities said. According to the officials of Central Pollution Control Board, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 3 pm was 401, falling in the 'severe' category, the highest this season.

PM Modi to unveil world's tallest statue in Gujarat on Wednesday; IAF flypast, waters from 30 rivers, dancers from 29 states to jazz up event

The Statue of Unity, a 182-metre giant structure built in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, will be dedicated to the nation on Wednesday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The imposing monument, touted as the world's tallest statue, is twice the height of Statue of Liberty and is built on an islet, Sadhu Bet, near the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Narmada district. After Modi unveils the statue, three IAF planes would fly past and create the tricolour in the sky by emitting saffron, white and green colours. PM Modi would also inaugurate the 'Wall of Unity' (a monument defining India's unity) near the statue. At that time, three Jaguar fighter jets would fly past the structure at a low altitude.
