Covid-19 in India: Delhi on Thursday (April 27) reported seven Covid-related deaths for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday too, the city reported seven fatalities, the highest so far this year. However, the national capital witnessed a further dip in coronavirus cases as it registered 865 fresh cases in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 16.90 per cent, according to data shared by the city government's health department.

Amazon Layoff: Amazon, an e-commerce giant has continued to lay off employees from the other departments. A new report surfaced stating that the employees will get impacted by the fresh wave, where most of its cloud computing and human (HR) division. CNBC reported that Amazon Web Services (AWS) CEO Adam Selipsky and HR head Beth Galetti sent memos to staffers in the US, Costa Rica and Canada informing them of the job cuts. The layoffs are part of the previously announced job cuts that would affect 9,000 employees. In the first job cut round, Amazon slashed approximately 18,000 roles.
Atiq Ahmed killing: In another revelation, officials have informed that Shaista Parveen, wife of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed who was shot dead by three shooters in UP's Prayagraj on April 15, is trying to secure her husband's illegal funds and properties. Shaista Parveen, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, has been absconding. UP Police has announced a bounty of Rs 50,000 on her.

Covid19: Maharashtra saw a 58 percent dip in Covid cases with 226 fresh cases being recorded, health officials informed. The state recorded no deaths. Godhara train burning case: In a latest development to the 2002 Godhra train burning case in Gujarat, the Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to eight convicts and declined the pleas of four others. According to sources, the bail was granted by a bench headed by the Chief Justice of DY Chandrachud. 
London: British Deputy Prime Minister and justice minister Dominic Raab resigned on Friday (April 21) amid bullying allegations. It is alleged that Raab bullied staff members while working as a cabinet minister across different UK government departments. Raab’s resignation came after an independent investigation into formal complaints of bullying.
